FAQS
Alarm Calls - If you require a Wake Up Alarm in the morning the silver clock in your room can be used to set any specific time during the day. The clock also benefits from a radio function.

Breakfast is served on the ground floor, to the rear of the hotel. Daily breakfast is served from 7.45am-9.30am.

Buses & Coaches
The excellent central location of the Lodge means you can easily walk to many attractions. However the bus stop is also directly across the street. The reliable bus service operates from early morning till just before midnight. The numbers which will take you to the town centre are 12,26 and 31. The price for a single ticket is roughly £1.20 or a daily ticket can be purchased for around £3.50. These tickets are bought on the bus and please remember to use the correct change. We also offer discounted coach travel to all the attractions in the city with Coach Direct. The Edinburgh Airport bus (Number 100) can also be caught from Haymarket Train Station and takes approximately 25 minutes to reach the airport.

Car Park - The car park out front is for residents only and has limited space. If you know you will want to leave your car for the day when you check out, and many guests do, please contact reception to arrange this.

Cancellation Policy - 7 days notice.

Check-in: 14:00- 23:00 hours

Check Out time is at 10.30am. You can settle your bill either the night before or the morning of departure. It is also possible to request a late check out - available on request at an additional charge of £10 per hour per room. Just contact reception if you wish to arrange this. It is also usually possible to leave your bags here if you wish to visit some more of Edinburgh before you leave.

Churches
The Local Catholic Church is St John the Baptist, St Ninians Road, Costorphine. There is a mass at 6pm on a Saturday and on a Sunday it starts at 10.00am. Church of Scotland is located at St Giles Cathedral, High Street. Sunday Service at 10.00am.

Chemist
If you are feeling unwell there is a chemist situated at Roseburn, which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Turn left at the front and follow the road under the bridge until you reach the row of shops. NHS 24 Phone Number 08454 242424.

Car Hire
If you plan on going further afield then a car is a must. We have telephone numbers and websites for local rental companies and these can be found by contacting a member of staff.

Credit Cards Accepted
We can accept most credit cards, Visa, MasterCard, JCB, Amex. Etc. Please note that a £3.00 surcharge charge will be payable per transaction for debit and credit card payment.

Deposits
If you would like to book, please send a deposit equal to the first nights stay. The deposit will ensure your room is held for you until 10.30 the morning after your planned arrival, so even if you are very delayed, the room will still be available. The deposit is fully refundable if we receive 7 days notice of cancellation.

Fire Alarm

You will be alerted to the fire alarm by a continuous ringing bell. If you discover a fire, raise the alarm and contact a member of staff. There are alarm points and fire extinguishers at strategic points around the hotel. If you hear the bell, even if you are in doubt about its purpose, you should:-

1. Leave the hotel immediately.
2. Close doors behind you.
3. Wait outside, clear from the hotel front
4. Once here inform staff of your name and room number.
5. Do not re-enter the building until told to do so.

Do not attempt to fight the fire if it involves risk. Professional help will come as soon as the alarm is raised.

Fax
Reception can arrange for faxes to be sent. Normal cost per sheet is 50p. We also offer printing and photocopying services at a cost of 15p per sheet.

Internet
The hotel benefits from a local access Wi-Fi point and this is free for all guests providing they have their own laptop. A password for this can be obtained from the front desk. If however you have left your computer at home, we also have a desktop PC situated directly across from the resident’s lounge and this is also free to use 24 hours a day.

Laundry
We do not offer a laundry service as such but if you have a few items that need to be washed we can do this. Alternatively there is a launderette and dry cleaning service available at The Murrayfield Launderette, 1 Murrayfield Place.

Pets are not allowed.

Residents Lounge
The Residents lounge is situated to the right past the reception desk and is opened from 7.30am till 10.30pm.

Smoking
Smoking is strictly prohibited within the hotel and rooms. There is a door leading out to the gardens where smoking is permitted. A penalty of £50 will be charged to anyone caught smoking in their room.

Stationery
Your room comes equipped with a Lodge notepad and pen. Should you need more paper or any other items (rulers, calculators, eraser, punch, pencil) please contact reception.

Taxis
The local numbers for taxis is 0131 229 2468. We can also arrange a taxi for you. The approximate price to the airport is £15 and to the city centre £5.

Television
LCD TVs with Freeview Channels / DVD players in all rooms, with free access to a DVD library.
