The Edinburgh Lodge is centrally located. Princes Street, Edinburgh's main shopping street is approximately 10-15 minutes easy, level walk away. Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Royal Yacht Britannia are all within easy reach of here.

The Edinburgh Lodge is served by excellent public transport. If you don't want to walk, the bus journey in to Edinburgh takes a couple of minutes and you seldom need wait more than a few moments for a bus. All day bus tickets cost just £2.30

The Edinburgh Lodge is also very convenient for Edinburgh Airport and Glasgow airport. The road from our car park takes you directly to both. Prestwick airport is also easy to reach, 25 miles past Glasgow Airport. Loch Lomond is an easy 1 hr drive away.

Loch Lomond is less than an hour and a half away from your Edinburgh hotel accommodation at The Edinburgh Lodge. A tour of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs is a very enjoyable way to spend a day out of town. We can arrange coach tours with a pick up from the hotel or we can supply maps and directions if you prefer to drive yourself.

St Andrews and the east coast are around an hour away by train or by road. There is a very frequent train service from Haymarket station which is within easy walking distance of The Edinburgh Lodge.

Rosslyn Chapel is about thirty minutes away, an easy drive, also on a good public transport route.

Loch Ness, Glencoe, the highlands, the whisky trail and the castle trail are easily reached by a one day coach tour with a pick up from The Edinburgh Lodge. Once again, if you prefer to drive yourself we can provide maps and comprehensive route guidance.

Isle of Skye is not well served by public transport but is an easy days self drive trip from The Edinburgh Lodge.
